Enrolling in Preschool

Department of Education (DOE) preschools enrol students in the year before they attend school. Students who will turn 4 before the 31 July during year of attendance and are commencing school in the following year are eligible for enrolment.

Places at Rydalmere East Preschool are available for 20 students in each class.

Class Attendance

Preschool 1 Class:

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

(NSW Department of Education Semester 1 – Terms 1 and 2)

Monday and Tuesday

(NSW Department of Education Semester 2 -Terms 3 and 4)

Preschool 2 Class:

Thursday and Friday

(NSW Department of Education Semester 1 – Terms 1 and 2)

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

(NSW Department of Education Semester 2 -Terms 3 and 4)

Our Preschool complies with the guidelines of providing 15 hours per week of Preschool instruction. 

Applications can be made at the school office. Applicants will need to provide 100 points of proof of address, the child's birth certificate, pension or healthcare card and parent’s passport/visa if parents are not Australian citizens.

Places are not determined on a first in basis. All applicants are considered using DOE guidelines.

Enrolment guidelines

Preschool places will be allocated according to the Department of Education guidelines.

Where the number of applications exceed places priority for enrolments will be taken in the following order:

1. Children who live in the Rydalmere East Public School feeder area.

2. Children who do not live in the Rydalmere East Public School feeder area, but have siblings enrolled at the school.

3. Children living outside the school boundary.
