These are just some of the learning opportunities your child can be a part of at ‘Team REPS’. These are a credit to our wonderful teachers at Rydalmere East PS.

  • K-2 Performance Dance Group - The K-2 Dance Group are an energetic and enthusiastic group of students who learn and practise their jazz routine each week, in preparation for several upcoming eisteddfods and community events. This year, our K-2 Dance Group are travelling back in time to the 1980s, with an upbeat routine performed to Wham's, Wake Me Up Before You Go Go! The K-2 Dance Group is coordinated by Mrs Piercey and rehearsals take place each Monday during recess time.
  • 3-6 Performance Dance Group – Our 3-6 Performance Troupe trains twice per week and competes and performs at school and local community events, as well as regional eisteddfods.  The 3-6 Dance Group is coordinated by Mrs Scuglia and rehearsals take place each Tuesday and Wednesday during recess. We also host termly intensive dance rehearsals.
  • Musical Instrument Group - The Rydalmere East Public School Music club run by Mr Yeng will provide an excellent opportunity for students to ignite their passion for music by introducing them to the basics of music as we explore the elements of music which include rhythms, beats, pitch, dynamics and expression. They will have a chance to learn about different musical instruments families beginning with percussion instruments and progressing to string instruments. Music education can provide the connection between music and other life skills which include teamwork, respect and focus.
  • Choir - Our school choir showcases their talent, teamwork, and love for music each week. From lunchtime rehearsals to special performances, these dedicated students have work hard and sing their hearts out. The choir is not only building confidence and musical skills and also creating a strong sense of community and joy.
  • PSSA Sport - Our students proudly represent Rydalmere East Public School in PSSA sport each term, showing great sportsmanship, teamwork and determination. Each year, we capture student voice as to which sports we enter. Students participate in weekly Friday matches against local schools, celebrating win, loss or draw. It is wonderful to see students developing their skills, staying active, and supporting one another with such positive energy.
  • Gardening Club - The Gardening Club is a fun and hands-on extra-curricular activity where students help care for and maintain our school gardens. Each week, members take part in seasonal gardening tasks such as planting, weeding, watering, mulching, and composting. Through these practical experiences, students learn about sustainability and the importance of caring for the environment. They also build valuable skills such as teamwork, communication, responsibility, and problem-solving. The Gardening Club is a fantastic way for students to connect with nature, work together, and take pride in making a positive impact on our school grounds.
  • STEM Club - We offer an exciting STEM Club during lunch times so students can unleash their creativity with equipment such as LEGO and Makey Makey with Mrs Strong. This club is a fantastic opportunity for students to explore the world of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in a fun and interactive environment. Whether you're building innovative structures with LEGO or bringing your ideas to life using Makey Makey, you'll develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills while collaborating with your peers. We aim to be a community that inspires curiosity and innovation—let’s create, code, and construct together!
  • Defence Club -Defence Club at Rydalmere East Public School provides a safe and supportive space for students from Defence families to connect, share, and grow together. This is run by our Defence School Mentor, Miss Andy. Each week, students engage in activities that build resilience, friendships, emotional wellbeing, and a sense of belonging. The club recognises the unique experiences of Defence life and supports students through transitions, absences, and changes. All Defence students are welcome to join and be part of this encouraging community.
  • Debating - Rydalmere East Public School competes in the Premier's Debating Challenge for Years 5-6. Students learn to build confidence in their public speaking as well as engaging with topics that concern their real-life experiences as primary school students. In Terms 2 and 3, the REPS team debates with local schools to test their debating skills. Let’s go team REPS!
  • Chess Club - It has been a great pleasure to see so many students involved in the Chess Club activity group which is held on Fridays every fortnight. The group has attracted a range of age groups from about 8yrs up to some of our senior students in Year 6. We look forward to seeing each of the students developing their skill level and gaining confidence in their ability to play competitively.
  • Student Representative Council - This year the SRC has been working hard to provide different events for students to participate in as well as fundraise for different issues in and out of the school! Joining with our school leaders, we are working hard to organise different activities for us to participate in. Our Jersey day was a big success raising funds to purchase new resources. Look out for our future events, whether it is activities in the playground or maybe a mufti day!
